Life
Conway's Game of Life. Click or drag on the grid to draw cells, then press play. Simple rules, unplanned structure.
Notes
Each cell looks at its eight neighbours. A live cell with two or three live neighbours survives; a dead cell with exactly three is born; everything else dies or stays dead. That is the whole program, and yet gliders, oscillators and guns appear from it.
This toy is here as a reference implementation of the toy shell — the toolbar, the frame, the notes — so new toys can copy its structure.
